Pair Vechtron with your car and configure preferences

Follow these steps to add your vehicle, connect optional hardware, and tailor Vechtron to how you drive.

1

Add your vehicle

Create or select a profile for each car you want Vechtron to monitor.

2

Connect data sources

Use app-only mode or optionally pair a sensor / OBD-II device for richer data.

3

Configure preferences

Adjust alerts, notifications, and privacy settings to match your driving routine.

Using Vechtron with or without a sensor

Vechtron works on its own with the information you provide in the app (vehicle profile, mileage, driving patterns, and service history). The optional smart sensor or OBD-II link is designed to complement the software by adding more detailed, real-time vehicle data. You can start in app-only mode and connect hardware later at any time.

Step 1 — Add your vehicle

  1. Open the Vechtron app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Garage or My Vehicles.
  3. Select Add vehicle.
  4. Enter key details such as:
    • Make, model, and year
    • Current odometer or estimated mileage
    • Fuel type (petrol, diesel, hybrid, EV)
    • Transmission and engine size (if available)
  5. Confirm and save. Vechtron creates a health profile for this vehicle, which it will use for predictions and recommendations.

Step 2 — Connect data sources (optional hardware)

You can use Vechtron without any hardware. If you have the Vechtron smart sensor or a supported OBD-II device, follow these steps to connect it.

A. App-only mode

  1. Skip hardware setup when prompted in the app.
  2. Enable mileage tracking by logging trips or manually updating your odometer.
  3. Set your typical monthly driving distance.
  4. Vechtron will use these inputs plus your vehicle profile to forecast maintenance needs and send alerts.

B. Using a Vechtron smart sensor or OBD-II device

  1. Park your car safely and turn off the engine.
  2. Locate the OBD-II port (usually under the dashboard near the steering wheel).
  3. Plug in the Vechtron sensor or compatible device firmly.
  4. Open the Vechtron app and go to Device setup.
  5. Select Pair new device and follow the pairing instructions (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, depending on your hardware).
  6. Once connected, choose which vehicle this device belongs to.

Step 3 — Configure your preferences

Alert settings

  • Choose which alerts you want: routine maintenance, predictive issues, or critical warnings only.
  • Set how you want to be notified: push notifications, email, or in-app only.
  • Adjust sensitivity for driving behaviour alerts (for example, harsh braking or high engine load).

Maintenance preferences

  • Pick your preferred workshop or dealer, if you have one.
  • Set your typical service interval (for example, every 10,000 km or 12 months).
  • Import or log previous services so Vechtron has full history.

Privacy and data

  • Control what data is stored for each vehicle.
  • Decide whether to share aggregated data for improving models and insights.
  • Review how to request data export or deletion at any time.

Troubleshooting setup issues

If your vehicle will not connect:

  • Make sure Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is enabled on your phone (if using hardware).
  • Confirm the sensor is fully plugged into the OBD-II port.
  • Check that you selected the correct vehicle during pairing.
  • Restart both the app and your car and try again.
